The Cycle of Romance

Reality Therapy says that to lead a happy life, one must meet the basic needs: Survival, Belonging, Power, Freedom, and Fun. Ask yourself: What do I want? What am I doing now? Is it working? What is my picture of a quality life? How do I feel? What could I do differently? I can only control my own behavior, not others. My choices are my own, not another's fault.
Me Gustan Todos, Cariñito, Cielito Lindo

Belonging
We can like everyone and build a sense of self worth by accepting those around us, along with their differences. The best way to have a friend is to be a friend.
Cielito Lindo

Power
We all must learn that, although we can befriend and admire all, we cannot impose our will upon others to possess them. We need power over our own circumstances, but to attempt to gain power over others leads to unproductive, unreasonable behavior.
Los Laureles

Freedom
Gain a vision of what a good life is all about, and then imagine yourself in that picture. Many behaviors that are ineffectve are the result of a limited world view. We need to help one another expand our vision of what the world is all about, to see our own place in a society full of hope and beauty.
Las Gaviotas

Fun
If you meet the basic needs, you no longer need substances to alter your mood. If you have a friend and you are a friend, Red Ribbon Week lasts all year long. The best fun is when you are there to enjoy it, not on a psychotic "trip".
